Synopsis

The discussions in this book are based on YHWH’s (God’s) law of Deuteronomy 23:12-14 in the Old Testament which focuses on open defecation. They are meant to show that the law is undergirded by many concepts which can be integrated meaningfully. They are to help in providing a general framework for the application of relevant OT passages for NT context and beyond. But more importantly, they are to hammer on the fact that YHWH’s prohibition of open defecation and instructions on how to handle human waste has to be obeyed by all and that failure leads to regrettable consequences.
